Heavy metal fans know there’s nothing quite like the surge of adrenaline that hits when a band you love takes the stage. Now, throw in the high-voltage energy of Stryper—a band that’s been blending faith and furious riffs for four decades—and you’ve got yourself a night that hits harder than a double-shot of espresso. This past weekend, Stryper’s 40th Anniversary Tour rolled through Glenside, PA, lighting up the Keswick Theatre and proving why these metal titans have stayed on top since the ’80s.

Led by Michael Sweet on vocals and guitar, Oz Fox on guitar and backing vocals, Robert Sweet pounding the drums, and Perry Richardson keeping the low end tight, the band ripped through a setlist that took fans on a joyride through their extensive catalog. You’ve got your iconic tracks like “To Hell with the Devil,” “Loud and Clear,” “Always There for You,” “Soldiers Under Command,” and “The Rock That Makes Me Roll”—each one belted out with the kind of passion that makes you forget how many years have passed since you first heard them.

The Keswick’s cozy setup only added to the magic, giving the crowd a chance to feel every riff, every crash of the drums, and every soaring vocal right up close. Old-school fans headbanged alongside newcomers, all sharing in that raw, unfiltered energy that makes live metal shows unforgettable.

And here’s the best part—Stryper’s got new music and production in the works. So, if you think they’re done, think again. We’ll be waiting (impatiently) to see what they drop next.
