Meet Andy Vineberg: A 30-Year Career in Journalism

Andy Vineberg enjoyed a 30-year career in journalism (before the internet killed the newspaper star), working as a reporter and editor for a chain of suburban Philadelphia publications. He covered mostly sports, features, and entertainment, while also supervising the company’s award-winning teen section (the place where CBS News election correspondent Robert Costa got his start).

Sports Reporting with the Philadelphia Phillies

Highlights of Andy’s newspaper career include serving as a traveling beat reporter for the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1990s (yes, he was in Toronto for Joe Carter’s World Series-winning home run and will never forgive Jim Fregosi for taking Roger Mason out of the game in the 8th inning).

Interviews with Pop Culture Icons

Andy’s career also involved interviewing a long line of famous (and not-so-famous) entertainers, from Tommy Smothers to Barry “Greg Brady” Williams to Pink.

Podcast Co-Host: “David Uosikkinen In the Pocket”

Since 2018, he has co-hosted the “David Uosikkinen In the Pocket” podcast, teaming with the Hooters drummer to interview both local and national musicians.

Current Role and Passion for Pop Culture

He works full-time as a content writer for a South Jersey-based marketing company but hasn’t lost his passion for pop culture. To paraphrase his all-time favorite musician, “maybe he’s not so young anymore,” but he’ll always consider himself a proud music and movie nerd.
