Hard Rock Nights 2145 HARD ROCK NIGHTS
Almost wrote this one off when I heard it being compared to AC/DC—like, not another one? But hold up, this is Tommy Henriksen’s new project, and Mutt Lange came out of retirement to produce? Now I’m intrigued. The track starts off reminding me of Warrant’s “Big Talk” before heading straight into an Irish pirate sea shanty vibe. AC/DC (sorry) meets Flogging Molly? I likey a lot. FUN! Truthfully, AC/DC may come across on some of the other tracks, not really here for me. You’ll like this tune and the rest of the album too.
This one hooked me from the start—sounds like KISS’s “Parasite” out of the gate but quickly becomes its own thing. Paints the picture of the singer tearing down a desert highway at 105mph, trying to outrun the anguish of loss. You feel this one.
This tune checks off all the boxes: killer Saturday night rocker, great guitar tone, honky-tonk piano, backup singers, good bass groove, and a sing-along vibe led by a great vocalist. If there’s any justice in the world, this song will finally get this band the recognition they deserve. It’s the perfect Saturday night anthem.
Didn’t think this one was for me at first (I even thought I accidentally pressed play on a Billie Eilish track), but I didn’t skip, and I’m so glad I didn’t. This Canadian supergroup absolutely nails it. If Todd Kerns and Brent Fitz can’t get this song on terrestrial radio, then seriously, it’s time to give up on corporate radio. This track is catchy AF!
The band features Todd Kerns and Brent Fitz (both from Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators), Cory Churko (Shania Twain), and Shane Gaalaas (Michael Schenker Group). Their new song “Broken” drops November 15th—don’t miss it.
This band out of India has been making waves for a few years now, and they’re not going anywhere. Nothing generic here—Girish Pradhan’s voice is exactly what we need right now. As some of our all-time greats are aging out, bands like GATC are stepping up to keep rock alive and fresh.
Didn’t expect to see The Black Keys pop up in my playlist, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. They’ve mastered doing new things with an old-school touch, and Alice Cooper fits into this track perfectly (but would you expect anything less?). The song has an equally cool video featuring old horror movie footage.
