Scottish legends Heavy Pettin are back with “Line In The Sand” the second single / video from their upcoming album “Rock Generation” their first full length since 2007’s “Prodigal Songs”
Rebels Opera “Smile Now, Cry Later”
Nashville new comers Rebels Opera have enlisted the talents of Tuk Smith to produce their full length debut, which we should see in early 2026 through RFL Entertainment. Along with producing Smith also wrote the records first single “Smile Now, Cry Later” and as his songs tend to do it will be stuck in your head for days. If you sign up to be a VIP at the band’s website they will send you demos of 4 other songs they are working on with Mr. Smith.
Saliva – “Too Broke To Fix” (feat. Austin John Winkler)
The collaboration you didn’t know you needed, the Bobby Amaru led version of Saliva have teamed up with former Hinder front man Austin John Winkler for “Too Broke To Fix”. Winkler sounds great, I wish he would go back to the kind of music he was making in the early 2000s with Hinder because let’s face it Hinder hasn’t sounded like Hinder since Winkler left. Since releasing “Revelation: Retold” earlier this year Saliva has released a handful of new singles including a few covers, but I haven’t heard anything about a new album yet.
The Southern River Band “One of These Nights (I’ll Be Gone)”
Coming up from Australia The Southern River Band have just released their outstanding new record “Easier Said Than Done”. Not only is “One of These Nights (I’ll Be Gone)” is the album’s closer, it’s the closest thing to a ballad on the record and one that will be lighting up venues for years to come. If you like good ol’ solid rock n roll without all the flash and theatrics you should definitely be checking out “Easier Said Than Done”.
Black Label Society “Broken and Blind”
Zakk Wylde and Black Label Society are back with their second single of 2025 “Broken and Blind”. No surprises here “Broken and Blind” sounds exactly like you expect Black Label Society to sound, which is fine with me cause I’m a devout follower of “If It Ain’t Broke Don’t Fix It” this way of thinking has worked for AC/DC for years and years and it works pretty damn well for Zakk and company too. If you haven’t already when you get a chance check out BLS guitarist Dario Lorina’s new project Dark Chapel and their album “Spirit In The Glass”.
Mason Hill “Remember”
Four years after “Against the Wall” Mason Hill return new vocalist and front man Tom Ward, and a dark new direction with “Remember”. The new single is just the first step on the road to a new album from the Glasgow-based band half of which has already been recorded, and the remainder of which will be captured during further sessions with producer Dan Weller (Enter Shikari, Bury Tomorrow, Those Damn Crows) in November. Expect an early 2026 release for the as-yet-untitled full length.
Beasto Blanco “Out of Darkness”
Just in time for Halloween Beasto Blanco have returned with their new single “Out of Darkness” Calico Cooper channels her best impression of Missing Persons’ Dale Bozzio on this track and without even realizing it I found myself tapping my foot and singing along while I just kept playing the song on repeat.
Bullet – Kickstarter
Seven years after their latest studio album, 2018’s “Dust To Gold” Sweden’s Bullet have returned ion all their glory with “Kickstarter” the first single and title track of a new record scheduled to be released on January 9th through Steamhammer. Dag “Hell” Hofer sounds great as does the band’s “AC/DC Meets Udo Dirkschneider” sound, a sound I have missed over these past few years so yes I’m thrilled to hear new music from the Swedes.
The Redbeds – Let’s Rock
I have to admit The Redbeds from Portugal came out of left field, I just happened to come across them on Youtube, but oh what a sweet surprise they turned out to be. Not only “Let’s Rock”, but the whole album “Gimme Some Sugar Baby” is a fun listen.
Danko Jones “Diamond In The Rough” (feat. Marty Friedman)
For their latest single Danko Jones enlisted guitarist extraordinaire Marty Friedman and for the video they teamed up with Kiss cover band, Wicked Kisser for a loose spoof on the classic “Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park”. “Diamond In The Rough” is the third single / video from Danko’s upcoming album “Leo Rising”, which is set to be released Nov 21st.
Tuk Smith & The Restless Hearts “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore”
Tuk Smith makes another appearance in this week’s “Basher’s Dozen”, but this time it’s for his own song “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore” from his latest EP “Troubled Paradise”. In a just world Tuk should be the biggest rockstar in said world and not have to deal with all the business BS that he has been mired in for the last 7 or so years.
Catalano “Stockholm Syndrome”
Australia’s Catalano have returned with “Stockholm Syndrome” from the EP “Back In Business”. Hard to believe it’s been 15 or so years since I was first introduced to Roxxi Catalano’s music through his band Del La Cruz, but he has kept releasing good quality rock over the years and “Back In Business” is no exception I just wish it was longer than 3 songs.
Pieces of Molly “Can’t Muzzle Me”
One of the few times I can say I’ve saved the best for last with New Zealand’s Pieces of Molly and my new theme song “Can’t Muzzle Me”, what can I say it’s everything I love about rock n roll loud, abrasive, rebellious, and in your face. Like I mentioned on Facebook the other day it’s three minutes and six seconds of complete and utter badassery.
