I know everyone has been on a Triumph kick here lately, but damn their new tribute album “Magic Power: All Star Tribute To Triumph” kicks ass from start to finish and it is heavy on the “all stars”
My favorites are from Tesla the Band‘s Jeff Keith with “Hold On” and Night Ranger‘s Jack Blades “Follow Your Heart”.
If Slash and Dorothy ever released a full length record together I would buy that beauty in a heartbeat cause I’ve dug every song they’ve released together. With “I Live For The Weekend” they get a little help from Nita Strauss and Theory of a Deadman‘s Tyler Conolly and it works to perfection.
Anthrax‘s Joey Belladonna sounds fantastic on “Magic Power” as does Starship Featuring Mickey Thomas on “Spellbound”, with all the power ballads he known for with Starship I forgot he can really rock when he wants too.
Closing the record out with Dino Jelusick‘s version of “Fight The Good Fight” is the cherry on top.
There’s a lot of music between these songs I mentioned and it is all top notch. Honestly there is a little something for everyone’s taste on this record.
